Healthcare in Bulgaria is a regulated market. Opening a practice or clinic means registrations, inspections and professional-body membership; running one means contracts with the National Health Insurance Fund and private insurers, staff issues and some of the most sensitive personal data there is. When something goes wrong for a patient, it means questions of medical standards, evidence and compensation.
For healthcare providers
We help private practices, outpatient centres and hospitals obtain and keep the registrations and permits they need, draft contracts with staff, patients and insurers, and represent them before regulators. Health data falls under the strictest GDPR category, so we tie the data protection side in from the start.
For patients
Patients harmed by a deviation from the medical standard in diagnosis, treatment or surgery can claim compensation. We review the case, help secure the full medical record and an independent medical expert opinion, and pursue complaints and claims against the facility.

Questions clients ask
What is needed to open a private medical practice?
Registration with the Regional Health Inspectorate and membership of the relevant professional body — for example the Bulgarian Medical Association or the Bulgarian Dental Association. Outpatient and inpatient facilities need additional authorisation under the Medical Establishments Act, including an inspection of staffing and equipment.
How do I claim compensation for medical malpractice?
The claim is usually brought against the medical facility. The key evidence is the complete medical file and an expert opinion on whether the applicable standard was breached and whether that caused the harm. Request copies of your records early — the facility must provide them.
